History
Primary Education program has intaken student in the 2003-2004 academic year

Graduates who successfully complete the program in the field of Primary Education gain Bachelor's degree

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have high school or equivalent degree and must have enough points at University Student Selection Exam. If any foreign language and special skills related to the entry requirements should be specified
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The process of recognition of prior learning is at an early stage in Turkish higher education institutions. Therefore, the recognition of prior learning is not fully initialized.in all programs of the University of Bayburt. However, the exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic semester for the computer programs and English courses replaced at training plans. students Considering to achieve the expected learning outcomes in these courses, have the right of entry to the exam. Those who pass the exam are exempt from the course.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To successfully complete The courses being all available in the program it is essential to obtain at least 2.0 GPA of 4.00 (for a total of 243 ECTS).

The purpose of Primary School Education department is to train teachers to carry out the qualified educational activities at first stage of primary schools

Access to Further Studies
Undergraduate degree candidates with successful completion may study PhD. program, provided that candidates take the current note and sufficient level of ALES and English language proficiency test.

Facilities
Department of Primary Education connected to the Primary Education Department consists of 4 Assoc. Professor, 1 Asst. Prof and 1 Research Assistant. In addition, the lessons are conducted in classrooms adequately equipped in every aspect. However, teaching practice and school experience lessons are carried out in primary schools under the guidance of the Ministry of Education. In the scope of applications of the community service course, students are provided participation to the social services in cooperation with different institutions belonging to public. The cooperation between departments in Primary Education Department, also contributes to the students to develop themselves as teachers in this direction.

Key Learning Outcomes
1Pre-service teachers acquire sufficient subject matter knowledge in primary education.
2Knows and applies contemporary teaching methods and techniques by gaining professional knowledge and skills regarding the teaching profession and primary school teaching.
3Have the ability to communicate healthily with all stakeholders of education by using Turkish effectively and in accordance with its rules.
4Have the ability to use information and communication technologies to improve teaching in technical and professional terms.
5Graduates become teachers who are dedicated to Atatürk’s Principles and Reforms, believing in democracy, and conscious about Turkish national, spiritual, moral and cultural values and sensitive towards these values in their profession.
6They acquire skills for monitoring learning, evaluating and recording of students in educational settings.
7Graduates will be sensitive towards society, environment, human beings, art and sport activities around them and educate young ones who are beneficial to society, confident about the future, critical and explorers.
8They prepare proper learning settings by benefiting from teaching aims in order to enhance educational process as regarding learning and teaching process.
9Graduates acquire scientific and analytic thinking skills, know scientific research methods and techniques, and become teachers as researchers.
10They have sufficient level of general culture in order to promote students development and will have sufficient level of research culture.
11Establish descent communication with his/her students and colleagues.
