Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable the prospective teachers to know the nature, purpose and content of the Primary School Textbooks Review course and evaluate the primary school textbooks in terms of form, content and educational values within the curriculum.

1Explain the principles to be used in the selection and arrangement of textbooks in primary schools.
2Know the instructional values, functions, types and benefits of textbooks.
3Recognize the approach and stages of preparing textbooks.
4Evaluate the textbooks in terms of visual characteristics, language and narrative features and printing characteristics.
5Evaluate primary school textbooks in terms of language skills.
6Prepare a textbook according to the curriculum.

Course Contents
To be able to comprehend the principles to be used in pre-school textbook selection and arrangement; examine the textbooks used in practice in terms of curriculum; examine the theory, approach, philosophy and program elements of the curriculum in terms of elements (purpose, content, teaching-learning processes, evaluation) and examine the textbooks in terms of the criteria (scientific language, content and physical properties) that are considered in preparing these elements and textbook.
