Objectives of the Course
The aims of this course are to develop an understanding of students about the necessity of art education in individuals intellectual and emotional development; to gain them basic knowledge and skills on teaching the discipline based art education practices; to provide them a comprehension on the graphical developmental features of children and their drawings; to gain them a basic knowledge and skills on integrating arts into other disciplines and creativity.

Learning Outcomes
1Obtain the necessary knowledge and skills on four disciplines of art education: Art philosophy and aesthetics, art history, art criticism and art production.
2Describe the developmental stages of childrens drawings and analyze them.
3İntegrate the other disciplines (i.e. science, maths, Turkish etc.), by doing this they will understand the idea of learning in and through art.
4Plan art activities that differentiate visual, auditory and tactile perception
5Describe and understand the concept of creativity, features of creative person and development of creativity.

Course Contents
To recognize the functions of visual arts education from the intellectual and emotional aspects, to determine the developmental level of the pupils according to the stages of graphical development, to read children's drawings, to make children enjoy visual arts and express themselves by the way of art; practice the appropriate art activities in the context of art history, art criticism and aesthetic disciplines; differentiate visual, auditory and tactile perception, learning through art and development of creativity.
