History | Turkish Education program has intaken student in the 2013-2014 academic year | Qualification Awarded | Turkish Education , Bachelor's Degree | Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) | First Cycle | Specific Admission Requirements | Students should pass the centrally administered entrance exam conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM). | Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | The process of recognition of prior learning is at an early stage in Turkish higher education institutions. Therefore, the recognition of prior learning is not fully initialized.in all programs of the University of Bayburt. However, the exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic semester for the computer programs and English courses replaced at training plans. students Considering to achieve the expected learning outcomes in these courses, have the right of entry to the exam. Those who pass the exam are exempt from the course. | Qualification Requirements and Regulations | A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meeting a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 | Profile of The Programme | The aim of the department is to develop reading, speaking and writing skills in Turkish at the highest level by means of research studies and teachers' training practices. It correspondingly aims at encouraging the students to promote the development of their own research abilities in the field as a basis for creating genuine and innovative ideas. | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Students who graduate from the program, the Ministry of Education official and private primary schools and special classrooms capable of teaching, mass media organizations, educational and cultural institutions abroad, archives and museums, world-Turcology centers, private and public organizations to work with the Turkish Republics and the relevant departments of universities will be able to work as academics. | Access to Further Studies | Undergraduates may apply to master's or doctorate programmes. | Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading | A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. | Facilities | There are 7 full time instructors including 1 professor, 3 associate professor, 2 assistant professors at the department. Main areas of interest of the department are education of Turkish as a mother and foreign language, literature education and educational studies.
The aim of the department is to educate students as efficient teachers who are qualified with the scientific point of view, the intellectual inquisitiveness, and the efficiency of Turkish.
Additionally, our department also aims to use Turkish effectively, to express oneself in written and oral language, to enable self-realization adopting contemporary education approaches, to reveal and develop concealed power, to enable individuals to live in peace with the society, to equip the individuals with national and universal values.
The graduates of Turkish Language Teaching Program can teach Turkish as "Turkish Language Teacher" to secondary school students (6th,7th,8th grade students), foreigners and people of Turkish Ancestry; can find solutions to social problems as teachers who can communicate effectively, have social responsibilities, adopt national values and consciousness of citizenship, respect universal values; produce novel, story, poem scenario, article and essay thanks to their efficiency in arts and culture. Apart from these, they can work at media institutions, education and culture institutions in our country and abroad, in achieves and museums, Turcology institutions, state and private institutions on Turki Republics, and as researchers in the related programs at universities. |
