Objectives of the Course
To be able to master the common definitions of the concept of culture. To be able to benefit from culture effectively in the Turkish teaching process by gaining knowledge about the interaction between language and culture. To be able to make comparisons by reading national and international reference works on the functions of culture in language teaching. To learn the formation phases of the elements of Turkish culture from past to present.

1The students will be able to; Describe and use the consept of culture, sources and elements of culture.
2The students will be able to; Locate the transformation of culture in languge education in general and Turkish education in specific.
3The students will be able to; Analyse the importance of the band between languge and culture.
4The students will be able to; Evaluate the texts transforming Turkish culture in a critical perspective.
5The students will be able to; Distinguish the consepts of culture and civilization.

Course Contents
Language, culture and the relationship between these two concepts. Comparison of bedside works dealing with language culture relationship in national and international literature. Utilizing culture as a tool in teaching Turkish. Cultural quality and quantity of Turkish textbooks.
