Objectives of the Course

To understand the historical development and characteristics of ancient Turkish literature, to introduce well known poets and authors together with their works, to introduce the culture of the related periods through poetry and prose.

Course Contents

The nature of ancient Turkish literature, concept area; main features of Divan literature, major types and important representatives; examination studies on selected texts from 15th-16th century Turkish Literature. Studies that indicate the perspective about language, social situation and the world view of the period.

7	Determination of the social and cultural influences of the artists who have gained importance in the Tanzimat period by way of their works.

9	Servet-i Fünun period, Servet-i Fünun poem.
10	Servet-i Fünun novel.
11	Servet-i Fünun period studies on the main representatives and works of Turkish literature.
12	Fecr-i Âti period.
13	Fecr-i Âti period studies on the main representatives and works of Turkish literature
14	The works of the artists who have gained importance from the way of determining the social and cultural effects in the Servet-i Fünun and Fecr-i Âti periods.
15	General review.
16	Final exam
