3The student will be able to; explain social theories and social institutions.
4The student will be able to; describe international or global aspects of sociology and subdivisions of sociology.
5The student will be able to; discuss and describe the main social institutions and their functions and characteristics.
6The student will be able to; describe the main social institutions such as family, education, religion, policy and economy and also their developments and characteristics.
7The student will be able to; explain the basic problems of social institutions.
8The student will be able to; describe the historical developments of sociology.
9The student will be able to; recognise functionalist, conflict, symbolic interactionist and postmodern sociologist.
