Objectives of the Course
This course aims at familiarising students with the morphology, as an area of study in linguistics. The basic issues in Turkish morphology will be discussed in detail. Besides, morphemes of Turkish, concatenation of affixes, morphotactics, affixation processes, suspended affixation, the classification of languages with respect to morphology will be discussed.

1The students will be able to; define the basic typological features of Turkish.
2The students will be able to; use concepts and terminology about Turkish morphology.
3The students will be able to; compare derivational suffixes with inflectional suffixes and distinguish basic differences between derivational suffixes and inflectional suffixes.
4The students will be able to; analyse Turkish words.
5The students will be able to; classify Turkish words according to origins, structures and types
