General Description
History
Bayburt University Faculty of Engineering was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 5765, published in the Official Gazette dated 31.05.2008 and numbered 26892. The Civil Engineering program is carried out within the Faculty of Engineering of Bayburt University. Civil Engineering Program consists of 7 main branches: Geotechnics, Hydraulics, Transportation, Mechanics, Construction, Construction Materials, and Construction Management. Construction Sector is an essential sector for the development of our country. The development of this sector is only possible with the training of qualified personnel who follow the changes in science and technology. For this reason, the Civil Engineering undergraduate program opened within the Faculty of Engineering was re-prepared in parallel with the developments in the Department of Geotechnical, Hydraulics, Transportation, Mechanics, Construction, Building Materials, and Construction Management, the applications were emphasized, and the demands of the industrialists were taken into account. In addition to mathematics, physics, chemical sciences, and basic engineering subjects, our education program also includes laboratory and design experiences to prepare graduates to apply Civil engineering principles to current engineering problems. Our department will take its place among our country's leading Civil Engineering departments in a short time by following the technological and academic developments in all these subjects, aiming to transfer the applications related to the latest state of technology to its students.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates of the civil engineering department are given the title of "Civil Engineer." Since it will be a four-year faculty graduate, it will have all the powers granted to a Civil Engineer.

Candidates must have a High School or equivalent school diploma and have received sufficient points from the University Student Selection Examination.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The process of recognition of prior learning in Turkish Higher Education Councils is still in its infancy. Therefore, the recognition of prior learning has not been fully initiated in all programs of Bayburt University. However, an exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic term for courses such as Computer and English, which are included in the education plans of the programs. Students who think they provide the expected learning outcomes from these courses have the right to take the exams. Students who are successful in the exam are exempt from the relevant course in the curriculum.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to obtain a bachelor's degree from Civil Engineering (Civil Engineer to earn the title of) the students are required to provide; a) Have passed all courses in the curriculum for at least the degree of DC, b) Have achieved a weighted average of at least 2.0 to 4.0 over, c) 60-day period of compulsory internship to be completed at least two different places and get a passing grade the reports prepared for this internship d) Prepare a final thesis, presented in front of the jury and to be successful in the past with a shout.
Profile of The Programme
Civil Engineering program, 1. Have the necessary knowledge and skills to analyze and design Civil Engineering problems by considering the principles of economy, safety, and practicality, 2. To be able to follow and keep up with technological developments and world standards, 3. Knowing the way to reach the correct information, 4. To form the leading and innovative staff of the Turkish Construction Sector, 5. It will represent our university in the country and our country abroad in the best way with its research, 6. It has adopted a training program to educate Engineers with the spirit of research and development. The program includes compulsory basic engineering, professional field, and general culture courses. In addition to the compulsory courses, the education plan also includes elective courses that allow students to choose according to their preferences.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Our graduates can work in production, quality control, R&D, and design in various public and private institutions related to the Construction Industry (KGM, DSI, DLH, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Municipalities, etc.). In addition, it will be possible to be employed as a manager in public institutions, organizations, and private companies related to the construction sector.

Student who completes the program successfully, if he successful in ALES, YDS, YÖKDİL required at master, he can apply post graduate and Ph.D. which is about graduate programs of Civil Engineering
