To provide students with a basic understanding of how materials and structural elements used in structures behave under various loads and stresses.

1Calculate internal forces, stresses and deformations in structural members under different loading conditions.
2Understand how to analyze the behavior of structural elements under normal force, shear force or torsional cross-section effects and size these elements.
3Can draw cross-sectional effect diagrams.
4Can make engineering designs with the information he/she will have.
