General Description
History
The Faculty of Arts and Design at Bayburt University was established by decision number 2017/10549, published in the Official Gazette dated August 17, 2017, and numbered 30157. The Painting Department, Music Department, and New Media and Communication Department are currently active. We are continuing our efforts to admit students to the Interior Architecture and Graphic Design Departments.

Specific Admission Requirements
The Painting Department of the Faculty of Arts and Design at Bayburt University admits students annually based on the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) score administered by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and the results of a special aptitude test administered by the department. Applicants must meet the minimum application requirements specified in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide published for the relevant year. The application process requires applicants to possess a TYT score, complete pre-registration within the specified dates, and pass the special aptitude test. The special aptitude test evaluates candidates' drawing, observation, perception, creative thinking, and artistic expression skills; successful candidates are placed in the program in accordance with relevant regulations and quotas.

Achieving all the lessons in the curriculum and attaining a weighted average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Profile of The Programme
Education and training are provided in order to develop the intellectual, visual, creative and artistic abilities of the students taking courses in the department and to attain qualifications that can contribute to the present and the art environment.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates can find employment as artists, curators, visual arts teachers, art academics, and in public and private institutions operating in the field of culture and arts.
Access to Further Studies
There is no Master's and PhD program with thesis.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Exams are administered in five different types: midterm exams, final exams, make-up exams, graduation exams, and excuse exams. To pass a course, students must achieve a minimum semester grade of 50. The conversion of the grade to a letter grade is based on a 100-point scale, taking into account the weighting of midterm and other semester assignments, as well as the final or make-up exam results.

The courses in the program must have been passed for a total of 240 ECTS and must have a weighted grade average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Facilities
The physical infrastructure required for art education activities includes classrooms, multimedia rooms, printmaking and mural workshops, painting workshops, and an exhibition hall. These spaces enable students to effectively carry out both theoretical and practical art studies.

Key Learning Outcomes
1 Using fundamental theoretical, historical, and technical knowledge related to painting, they create original artistic works.
2By applying technical skills related to drawing, pattern, color, composition, perspective, and the use of different materials, they produce two- and three-dimensional works.
3It analyzes traditional and contemporary art approaches to make aesthetic evaluations; it effectively uses research, observation, interpretation, and creative problem-solving methods in artistic production processes.
4It integrates digital art applications and current technologies into artistic production processes.
5Artistic ethics operate with an awareness of cultural heritage, social responsibility, and sustainability; expressing artistic ideas through verbal, written, and visual means by establishing effective communication in individual and interdisciplinary works.
6In line with the concept of lifelong learning, they continue their professional and artistic development by following national and international art environments.
