Course Contents

Two and three dimensional designs suitable for mass production techniques and decoration methods are taught theoretically and practically.

2		Preparation of ceramic clay.
3		Clay and clay types (residual clays) (Sedimentary clays).
4		Ceramic forming methods.
5		Ceramic raw materials (feldspar, pegmatite, chamotte, chalk, sand, quartz).
6		(regional) clay and kaolin quarries in Turkey.
7		Drying of ceramic products.
8		MIDTERM
9		Ceramic forming methods: Plate method
10		Daily use ceramic (Porcelain).
11	Contemporary Turkish ceramic artists.
12		Biscuit firing (first firing) stages of ceramic products.
13		Ceramic forming methods. Lathe method, lathe types.
14		Bringing to the center, raising, venting operations in the lathe method.
15		Centering, expanding, collapsing operations.
16		END OF SEMESTER EXAM
