History | The Philosophy and Religious Studies Master's Program aims to train qualified researchers who can acquire and generate advanced knowledge in the fields of Philosophy and Religious Studies, possess enhanced analytical skills, and have the ability to conduct research and investigations at the national and international levels, sharing this knowledge with stakeholders. The program includes disciplines such as History of Philosophy, Islamic Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Logic, History of Religions, Sociology of Religion, Psychology of Religion, and Religious Education. Education is provided at the master's level in all branches of science, and the medium of instruction is Turkish. The department has been accepting students since 2023. | Qualification Awarded | Those who complete the graduate program in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies obtain a Master's degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies (Specialist in Philosophy and Religious Studies).
| Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) | Second Cycle | Specific Admission Requirements | To apply for the program, candidates must have a minimum ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) score of 55, as determined by the Senate, and hold an undergraduate degree. Alongside the ALES score, the evaluation may also consider the undergraduate GPA, a written scientific assessment, and interview results. The specific criteria for this evaluation, as well as the additional documents and information required for application, the weighting ratio for international standard exams, the minimum threshold for the ALES score (not less than 50%), the lower limit of the master's entrance success score, and the weighting ratio for the scientific assessment and interview, are determined by the proposal of the relevant departmental board and the approval of the institute board.
| Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | Students who graduate from departments of institutions recognised by the Council of Higher Education (YOK) as equivalent are eligible for admission. | Qualification Requirements and Regulations | By the regulations outlined in the Institute of Social Sciences Education and Examination Directive, students must demonstrate success and obtain passing grades in all courses, seminars, and the thesis.
| Profile of The Programme | The main goal of our program is to train scholars who can integrate theoretical knowledge necessary for teaching philosophy and religious studies with practical application, produce original works, follow new information and approaches in the field, develop innovative strategies and methods in the scientific domain, possess advanced critical/questioning abilities, and contribute to the scientific community.
| Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Graduates can assume professional roles in public and private sectors, including positions such as teachers in public and private institutions and muftis, preachers, and imams in the Presidency of Religious Affairs.
| Access to Further Studies | Candidates who have completed their Master's degree can apply for doctoral programs in their respective or related fields, provided that they obtain a valid score in the ALES exam and possess adequate proficiency in a foreign language.
| Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading | A thesis-based master's program consists of a minimum of seven courses, one seminar course, and a thesis project, totalling no less than twenty-one credits. The seminar course and thesis project are assessed as either successful or unsuccessful and carry no credit value. The thesis-based master's program, comprising a minimum of eight classes, including the seminar course and a thesis project, must not be less than 120 ECTS credits, with a minimum of 60 ECTS credits for one academic semester. Students must register for the thesis period every semester starting from the term following the advisor's assignment.

| Facilities | The Department, operating within the Faculty of Theology, provides facilities for audio lectures in the classrooms. Additionally, the library within the faculty also serves students.
