Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to interpret religion-society relations from a sociological perspective and to teach sociological theories and sociologists' religion-society thoughts.

1Evaluates the relationship between religion, society and culture from a sociological perspective.
2Gains information about religious groups and new religious formations.
3Gains knowledge about secularization theories and discussions.
4Be aware of the discussions and views on the relationship between Modernization, Postmodernization, globalization and religion.
5Gains knowledge about the relationship between religion, state and nation, religion and health, religion and art.
6Learns the founding sociologists of the sociology of religion and some sociologists' views on religion.
