General Description
History
The Department of Sociology was opened in 2017 and started accepting graduate students in the 2023-2024 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
Graduating students are awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Sociology.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a Sociology Bachelor's degree and obtain sufficient points from the relevant criteria.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Students who complete their undergraduate education can apply for a master's program. Students are provided with horizontal transfer opportunities from different universities. Admission of students is reviewed and individually evaluated before the start of the semester, in line with current regulations, taking into account each student's circumstances and the degree to which he/she has applied.

The student must have passed all the courses in the program, must have achieved a minimum of 120 ECTS credits in this program, and must have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Profile of The Programme
The student who successfully completes the program can continue doctoral studies in the same or similar scientific fields that accept sociology graduates.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
It is mandatory to attend at least 70% of any course taken in graduate programs during the semester. Success; It is measured by mid-year success measurement (assignments, midterm exams) and end-of-year exam.
Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS), obtain a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00, and successfully complete the master's thesis.
