The Department of History was opened in 2015, and it began to admit the students in the 2016-2017 academic year. |

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) |
In Turkish higher education institutions, recognition of prior learning period is at an early stage yet. Therefore recognition of prior learning is not quite initialized in all programmes of Bayburt University.Except that , for some classes that are included in programmes like English and Computer, at the beginning of each academic semester, exemption exam is held.Students who are considering provided outcomes from these courses, are qualified to take an exam. Student who are successful, are exempt from the course in programme. |

Profile of The Programme |
The aim is to make people evaluate both the societies which have been composed by coming together of people and its political, military, cultural and economic situations with other societies and their effects on each other objectively in various aspects according to methods of history. By making them see this historical process scientifically and make cohesive calculations in itself, the aim is to bring them to the level to the need of modern age.
It is to grow our students as having program ability through general targets and make them have a modern historian identity. Our students who have this identity can grow individuals who are dependent on Ataturk’s principles and reforms can take charge in educational intuitions and they can be evaluated as a impartial historian.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples |
The graduates can work as academician in the fields of History and other Social Sciences in universities and as expert at Public Record Office. They can participate in various projects about their fields. Also, the graduates who get initial teacher training can work as teacher at Ministry of National Education and in private institutes. |

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), assignment(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. |
