General Description
|

| History | | Bayburt University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was established in 2008. The faculty consists of 4 departments: Department of Business Administration, Department of Economics, Department of Public Administration, Department of International Relations, Department of Public Administration, started teaching in 2015-2016 academic year. The period of instruction is four years in the department where 90 students are accepted every year and a contemporary public administration teaching is given. | | Qualification Awarded | |
All alumni who complete the full programme successfully and with its requirements qualify to earn ‘Bachelors Degree in Public Administration’.
| | Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) | | First Cycle | | Specific Admission Requirements | | Turkish students are admitted to the PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION section according to the results of the Higher Teaching Introduction (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM). Those who are successful in LYS (Postgraduate Placement Exam) organized by OSYM are placed according to preference order in TM-3 point type. Foreign students are accepted as a result of the evaluation of direct applications to the program. For more information, visit the Undergraduate and Graduate Acceptance Procedures and Registration Procedures section on the Bayburt University website. | | Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | | In Turkish High Education Institutes, the acknowledgement of former formal learning, vertical, horizontal and in-university transitions are subject to the regulations that are determined by The Higher Education Council. The acknowledgement of process of in-formal and non-formal learning which is related to experience or certificate has just started in Turkey. For that reason, the acknowledgement of former learning has not started in all programs of Bayburt University. But, exemption examinations for the foreign languages courses are implemented at the beginning of every academic year. The students who take and pass these exams are considered as exempted from the related courses. | | Qualification Requirements and Regulations | | Completing successfully all the courses which are in programme and having 2.00 GPA out of 4.00 are necessary conditions for sufficiency. | | Profile of The Programme | | In parallel with today’s rapid social, economic, technological and political changes, The discipline of the public administration have gained increasing importance. The concept of public administration covers a wide field because it includes all political mechanism from individual to the highest organizational structure in the state. Thus, its researches cover almost all area from smallest member of the community (citizens) to anonymous citizen and public relations, from economy to politics and culture, from rural structures to the the metropolis areas, from the bureaucratic organization in the state to private sector organizations. The main purpose of our department is being qualified and trained experts who might be employed in state and the private sector in different institutions. In this context, both at national and regional level, significant number of qualified experts needed will be trained and provided by means of our department. In addition, Turkey and its position in the EU and Globalization and observed transformation of the concept of classic public administration in recently indicates increase in the number of trained public administrators needed in short and medium term. All those developments can be said the advantages of the program. | | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | | Graduate diplomas are given to the graduates of the Public Administration Department with the title of "public manager"; Civil servants, administrators, administrative judges, district governors, diplomats "in public, civil society and private sector institutions and organizations. The graduates of the Bayburt University Department of Public Administration are aimed to be able to find jobs both in the public sector and in the private sector. The alumni are targeted to work as state institutions, particularly as ministers of the Interior and Justice Ministries, as well as general managers, embassies, chiefs of staff and affiliated force commands and municipal specialists, inspectors, administrative judges, district governors, diplomats and public administrators . In private sector, they will be able to work in research institutions, companies' strategy development units, banks, World Bank and EU Projects. | | Access to Further Studies | | If the candidates who successfully complete undergraduate education have enough score from their related score type in the ALES exam and have sufficient level of English score, they can apply to related graduate programs. | | Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading | | For the courses that are taught every term there are one midterm and one final exams.Total of %40 of the midterm and %60 of the final exams are determining the level of the students. | | Graduation Requirements | | Graduation conditions are explained in the section of ‘The Rules and Conditions of Sufficiency’. | | Mode of Study (Full-Time, Part-Time, E-Learning ) | | - | | Address, Programme Director or Equivalent | | Head of Department: Assoc. There are various clubs established for the field of Political Science and Public Administration in the department. Students of the department can turn to these in line with their field of interest. Through symposiums, congresses and panels organized on various subjects and speakers invited to our faculty, our students are provided with the opportunity to closely follow the practice as well as the theoretical knowledge they receive. Also, football, basketball, volleyball, etc. They also have the chance to take part in teams in sports branches. With Erasmus and Overseas agreements, students have the opportunity to study abroad. |
