Academic Calendar
An academic year consists of fall and spring semesters, each has minimum a study period of 16 weeks, including midterm exams, final and make-up (if any) exams.
The University embraces many diverse fields and disciplines of study; therefore the academic calendar and the duration of studies vary.

In Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, School of State Turkish Music Conservatory, Ödemiş Medical School, Izmir Ataturk Medical School and Çeşme Tourism School, most of the courses are taught in annual basis, make-up examinations are offered. The period of these exams:
For fall semester: January 23 – February 17, 2012
For spring semester: June 11 - August 17, 2012
In Faculty of Medicine, since the integrated block education is applied, the academic calendar is different from the general scheme:
