 HEALTH SERVICES UNIT

Student Referring and Treatment

There is a First Aid Health Unit in Dede Korkut Campus, which makes medical attention its priority and in the case of emergency serves as first aid before referring the patient to a hospital if necessary. Our students and our staff can get free appointment from the hospital by using the link at our web site.

Accesible Campus

Bayburt University Disabled Student Unit serves our students by taking the necessary precautions and making the necessary changes for disabled students studying at our university.

 The aim of our Disabled Student Unit is to design all the inside and outside parts of our campus to make it easily accessisble of our disabled individuals. The second aim of this is make our staff and our students aware of disabled people and work in defending their rights.

Philological Counseling and Guidance Unit

Philological Counseling and Guidance Unit in our Dede Korkut Campus supports our students, staff and their families psychologically, socially and economically. Through communication and identifying problems, providing stress exams, and handling other physiological problems students receive essential care to maximize their education at Bayburt University. Orientation seminars for our new students are organized to adapt them to their new lives every year. Apart from these, our university’s psychological Counseling and Guidance Unit contributes to these seminars, conferences and social projects, in various subjects, carried out by other institutions in Bayburt. Besides individual interviews, group therapies are also held. 

LIBRARY

Encompassing 650 square metres of our campus, our library offers our students and faculty a comfortable environment for their research activities with over 11,000 printed publications. With electronic resources provided by YORDAM the library houses wireless internet networks that allow users to browse catalogs and connect to the internet.

With an advantage of being a new and dynamic university, our library continues its service by creating a constantly improving, and growing its collection of both printed and electronic media.

LABORATORIES

Our facilities house computer, physic, chemistry, biology, electrical and electronic, civil engineering, mechanical engineering and foreign language laboratories that are available for our students’ use.

The computer, physic, biology and chemistry laboratories in the Education Faculty are designed to enhance the knowledge and experience of the students. The other laboratories in Engineering Faculty cost approximately 2 million TL and were put into service in 2011.

Smart boards, whose fundamental function is to make teaching dynamic and more practical, provide an interactive platform and are actively used in each classroom.

Our computer laboratories host a sufficient numbers of computers for each student. In our physics, biology and foreign language laboratories the students gain knowledge that allows them to transfer the theoretical aspects of the class into practice.

In addition to this; there is a Video Conference Hall that has the capacity to create visual and audio connections with other universities both domestic and internationally. In this way students and academicians can share ideas and information electronically enhancing their academic experience at Bayburt University.

 

EXTERNAL AFFAIRS COORDINATORSHIP

Erasmus Programme

 Erasmus Programme is a European Union programme for higher education institutions to encourage them to participate with each other. It provides financial support for them to produce and implement joint projects and carry out short-term student and staff exchange.

 Additionally, it encourages the relations and cooperation between higher education institutions and business premises in order to improve the higher education system in accordance with the requirements of the business world and increase the employability of college graduates in the business world.

 

Mevlana Programme

 The Mevlana Exchange Programme, enacted in 2013, is a program between universities and the Council of Higher Education,  is an international exchange program that  permits student and academic staff Exchange between domestic and international higher education institutions.

Students enrolled in the higher education institutions’ formal education programs can participate in the Mevlana Exchange Programme. The Exchange requires part of the student’s education be continued in another higher education institution that is part to the Mevlana Exchange Programme Protocol. Student exchange periods cover a minimum of one and a maximum of two semesters of study. Calculation of a term may be changed regarding the education system; however, the Exchange period cannot exceed an academic year.

 

ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

In accordance with the students’ interests and abilities, such activities as exhibitions, courses, conferences, concerts and celebrations are organized in order to provide students with self-development, recreation and social events outside of coursework. Every year, a traditional spring fest is held in our university. In these festivals, the concerts, which are open to the public and draw intense interest, are given by artists invited after surveying student interest. Furthermore famous professionals who are experts in their fields are invited to the conferences and seminars arranged by our rectorship, faculties and student clubs. The first Mind Games Festival was also organized this previous year in Bayburt with the attendance of academicians and students.
