General Description
History
Bayburt University School of Applied Sciences was established with the decree of the Council of Ministers dated 16/02/2016 and numbered 2016/8555, upon the proposal of the Ministry of National Education, in accordance with the additional article 30 of the Law No. 2809 dated 28/03/1983. On 13.07.2016, in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880 and Article 3 of Law No. 2809, the establishment of Organic Agriculture Management Department and Management Information Systems Department was approved by the Higher Education Executive Board on 13.07.2016. With the decree of the Council of Ministers dated 04/06/2018 and numbered 2018/11959, the School of Applied Sciences was closed; Faculty of Applied Sciences was established.

Students graduate from the undergraduate program at the end of 4 academic years (8 semesters).

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Students can have the opportunity to specialize in a field they wish in line with the lessons they have taken from different disciplines, the knowledge and experience they have gained, and the abilities they have. The curriculum of the Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) is formed on the basis of four-year business, management and informatics courses, and the applications of informatics courses are planned to support management decisions. For this reason, YBS graduates can turn to professions in the field of informatics and management, and graduates can plan their careers as "informatics managers". In line with the education they have received, YBS graduates take responsibility for the management to reach the information they need in an effective and efficient way by integrating informatics to facilitate business life with businesses. In this context, graduates can work in various titles such as MIS Specialist, Programmer, IT Specialist, Business Analyst, Network Specialist, Project Manager, System Analyst and Designer, Network Systems Manager, Data Scientist, Data Analyst in the public and private sectors.
Access to Further Studies
Students who successfully complete the program can apply for master's and doctorate degrees in the field of Management Information Systems or in other branches of science that accept students from this field.

Facilities
There are 6 lecturers working in the Department of Management Information Systems. The program, which continues its education and training by making use of classrooms and computer rooms equipped with all necessary equipment, has a library, conference hall, dining hall and canteen that students can benefit from.

Key Learning Outcomes
1They can recognize computer hardware, distinguish technical features of parts, compare, classify and select. They have information about software types, software selection and purchasing decision, they can plan and manage software development processes. They can develop and manage database systems necessary for the acquisition, storage, re-access and security of information (using computers and other information technologies).
2They can internalize the basic functions of the business such as management, production, marketing, human resources, numerical methods, accounting and finance, within the framework of information systems, by having knowledge of the basic concepts related to information systems. They have extensive and detailed information on business management, management functions, and management strategies. They gain the ability to comprehend basic business intelligence solutions that will gain competitive advantage. They can develop and manage information systems for faster, safer and more efficient execution of business activities such as order taking, order placing, stock control, supply chain and logistics.
3They can perform, manage or contribute to the analysis, project design, planning, organization, implementation and supervision activities necessary for the design and development of an information system. They can use basic program structures and systems development techniques to overcome business problems.
4They gain the ability to provide the feasibility, analysis, design, development, testing and continuity of information technologies including software solution, security model, computer and network infrastructure to solve Information Systems problems. They have knowledge about the design, installation and management of computer networks.
5They have knowledge about Internet applications, Internet programming and Internet usage. They can design and develop web applications that will solve business problems. They can analyze business processes, problems and opportunities in the organization and make appropriate system suggestions.
6They acquire knowledge and skills in technical, personal and effective communication, know computer and communication law, and acquire the skills and habits of following technological developments by gaining the necessary ethical values. They can create, implement and evaluate scientific research projects for information gathering purposes. As a result, they can prepare reports and presentations with quality information and effective graphics. Have the knowledge and skills to do business in at least one of the basic areas of business administration (management organization, marketing, production, finance, accounting and numerical methods).
