General Description
History
Bayburt University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was established in 2008. Our faculty consists of 5 departments. These include: Department of Business Administration, Department of Economics, Department of Finance, Department of International Business, and finally Department of Public Administration in the Department of Finance. The Department of Public Administration started its educational activities in the 2015-2016 academic year. In 2018, the name was changed to the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. In the department, where 60 students are accepted each year and a modern public administration and political science education is given, the duration of the program is four years.

Graduates who successfully complete all the requirements of the program receive a "Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Public Administration".

Specific Admission Requirements
Turkish students are admitted to the POLITICAL SCIENCE and PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION department according to the results of Entrance to Higher Education (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Exam (LYS) conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Those who are successful in the LYS (Graduate Placement Exam) organized by OSYM are placed in the order of preference according to TM-3 score type. Foreign students are accepted as a result of the evaluation of their direct applications to the university. Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Recognition of previous formal (formal) learning in Turkish higher education institutions Vertical, horizontal and transitions within the university The Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-institutional Credit Transfer within the scope of based on non-formal certification outside formal educational institutions in Turkey or based on experience (in-formal and non-formal) recognition of the learning process it is at an early stage. For this reason, recognition of prior learning is not fully initiated in all programs of Bayburt University. However, exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic year for the Foreign Language courses included in the curriculum of the programs. Students who feel that they meet the expected qualifications of these courses have the right to take the exams. Students who pass the exam are exempted from the related courses in the curriculum.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Successful completion of all courses available in the program (equivalent to 240 ECTS in total) and having a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 is the necessary qualification for graduation.
Profile of The Programme
Political Science and Public Administration has gained increasing importance in parallel with the current social, economic, technological and political changes. Since the concept of Political Science and Public Administration includes a political mechanism from the individual to the highest organizational structure of the state, the research topics include the anonymous relations of the public sphere, from the economy to politics and culture, from rural organizations to metropolitan structures, from private organizations to the state. This encompasses structuring and changes in a wide range of areas ranging from bureaucratic organizations. The main objective of our department, which will provide training within this framework, is to train qualified and educated experts to be employed in different institutions within the scope of state and private sectors. In this context, a significant number of qualified experts needed at both national and regional level are covered by this program.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
The field of employment of graduates of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration; It covers a wide range from private sector to public sector, from autonomous organizations to non-governmental organizations and various think tanks, from political research, advertising and consultancy services to banking sector. Graduates of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration; district governor, local authority, judges in Administrative Courts, Tax Courts and Regional Administrative Courts, expertise and auditor in the Council of State and the Court of Auditors; Management and expertise at various levels in ministries; inspection boards; management in public institutions, municipalities and State Economic Enterprises; Career officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Competition Board and so on. expertise, supervisory and inspectorate in the higher boards; public, private banks, international organizations, expertise, auditor, inspector or middle and senior management can do.
Access to Further Studies
Applicants who have successfully completed the undergraduate program can take graduate programs in their own fields or related fields provided that they have a valid score from ALES exam and have sufficient knowledge of English language.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
One midterm and one final exam are held for the semester. 40% of midterm exam and 60% of general exam are gathered and student's grade is determined.

Facilities
The department consists of 2 associate professors, 2 physician faculty members and 7 research assistants. There are several clubs established in the field of Political Science and Public Administration. Departmental students can turn to these in line with their interests. Through the symposiums, congresses and panels organized on various topics, the students are invited to our faculty to ensure that our students are able to follow the theoretical knowledge as well as the practice closely. Also, football, basketball, volleyball and so on. they also have the chance to take part in teams in sports. Students have the opportunity to study abroad with Erasmus and Abroad agreements.

4Culture, identity, migration and gender etc. obtaining knowledge in the fields; gain the ability to interpret and discuss this information.
5To have knowledge about civilizations, city and environment, to acquire the ability to use this knowledge to comprehend current, political and administrative problems in this field and to produce solutions; To gain sensitivity to environmental and urban problems at national and international level.
