General Description
History
Medical Laboratory Techniques Program started to provide education and training within the body of Bayburt Health Services Vocational School Medical Services and Techniques Department in 2015-2016 Academic Year.
Qualification Awarded
Those who successfully complete our program gain an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Techniques and the title of Medical Laboratory Technicians.

Specific Admission Requirements
To be a graduate of high school or its equivalent and to be successful and placed in the relevant Program by ÖSYM.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
For the recognition of prior learning in higher education institutions, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transferring Between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Credit Transfer Between Institutions" are applied.

In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the program (for 120 ECTS), to achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and to successfully complete the summer internship (30 working days).
Profile of The Programme
To train knowledgeable and qualified laboratory technicians in the field of diagnosis and treatment laboratories such as medical biochemistry, microbiology and pathology laboratories within public hospitals and private hospitals, who can perform the medical analyzes required by the physician regarding the condition of the patient.

Our graduates; They can work in public hospitals and private hospitals, private analysis laboratories, research centers of other health institutions, sanitation institutes, food industry enterprises, institutions and organizations engaged in research and development studies in the field of medicine.
Access to Further Studies
If our graduates are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM; They can make vertical transfer to undergraduate departments of Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Bioengineering, Genetics and Bioengineering, Nursing, and Health Management.

The principles regarding the exams and grade assessment specified in the Bayburt University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulation are taken into consideration.

Facilities
All classrooms where the lessons are conducted have a smart board, projector and internet connection. Courses that require a computer application are carried out in the Computer Laboratory, which includes 60 computers. Internet access via wired-wireless networks is unlimited in this laboratory. This laboratory, where students can get service using their own personal computers, is also open to students outside of class hours.
