2To get a basic understanding fort he production practices and maintenance of oilseed crops
3To understand and evaluate the constraints on oilseed crop production; physical (temperature, weather), chemical (soil, nutrients) and biotic (pests, diseases and weeds), To become familiar with prominent techniques in oilseed crop production

Course Contents
Status of oil crops in world and Turkish agriculture and trade of oil crops and vegetable oils, classification of oil crops, climate and soil requirements of oil crops such as sunflower, soybean, rapeseed, safflower, sesame, peanut, growth and development physiology, cultivation techniques and breeding.
