Objectives of the Course
Bu derste sanayileşme, teknolojik gelişme, küreselleşme, değişen üretim ve tüketim alışkanlıkları gibi etkenlere dayalı olarak ortaya çıkan çevre kirliliği ile buna bağlı olarak giderek bozulan iklim koşulları ve küresel iklim değişikliğinin yarattığı sorunlar incelenecek, bu konulara yönelik yapılanlar, sorunlara yönetsel ve hukusal yaklaşımlar, ulusal ve uluslararası düzeydeki uygulamalar ele alınacaktır. Bu kapsamda konuyla ilgili uygulama örnekleri, makaleler, sözleşmeler, kurumsal yapılar ile çevre kirliliğinin yol açtığı iklim değişikliğine yönelik yapılan çalışmalar incelenerek, sorunlarının çözümünde uygulanan çözüm yolları, kurumsal yapıların ne ölçüde etkin olduğu, sorunlara çözüm için geliştirilen araçların etkililiği ve yeterliliği, tartışmalarla değerlendirilecektir.

Learning Outcomes
1Have knowledge about the historical process of environmental pollution and climate change, their interaction with each other, concepts and resources on this subject,
2Gain the ability to establish the connection between environmental pollution and climate change, to recognize and interpret the intertwined problems in this regard,
3Learns the legislation for the protection of the environment and climate factors in the prevention of environmental pollution and climate change, those responsible, the structures established for this purpose, intervention tools and the problems caused by differences in practice,
4Regarding environment and climate change at national and international levels; Using the knowledge gained about legislation, practices, legal and criminal sanctions; Gains the skills and competence to develop solution suggestions by comparing and contrasting,
5Understands the role and importance of international organizations in preventing environmental pollution and climate change problems and ensuring cooperation on this issue, and has knowledge on these issues.
6With the knowledge gained in the field, he/she acquires the skills and competence to research, analyze, express himself/herself on these issues, communicate, conduct academically original studies, write and present.

Course Contents
In this course, environmental pollution arising from factors such as industrialization, technological development, globalization, changing production and consumption habits, and the problems caused by increasingly deteriorating climatic conditions and global climate change will be examined, and the actions taken towards these issues, administrative and legal approaches to the problems, national and international practices will be discussed. In this context, relevant implementation examples, articles, agreements, institutional structures and studies on climate change caused by environmental pollution will be examined, and the solutions applied to solve the problems, the effectiveness of the institutional structures, the effectiveness and adequacy of the tools developed to solve the problems will be evaluated through discussions.
