Objectives of the Course
Based on examples, the use of the poetry genre in Turkish lessons will be examined. It is aimed to examine the poetry genre and the development level of today's Turkish poetry.

Course Contents
An overview of the poetry genre. Examining the works of Cemal Süreya, Turgut Uyar, Özdemir Asaf, Mehmet Akif Ersoy, İsmet Özel, Sezai Karakoç, Cahit Külebi and poets living today. The development line of the poetry genre from the Republic to the present day. Poetry theory. Examination of poems in Turkish textbooks. Examination of poets in Turkish textbooks. Establishing the relationships between these poems and language skills.
