Objectives of the Course
Within the framework of this course, Turkey's social, political and economic change is analyzed from the perspective of cultural elements. For this purpose, it is aimed to define Turkey's socio-economic and political identity and problems.

Learning Outcomes
1Students will have the ability to evaluate Turkish politics
2By following the steps given in the course, students will gain the ability to analyze existing problems and produce new policies to solve these problems
3They will have knowledge about the roles of the actors involved in the policy-making processes in Turkey and the approaches of these actors. Evaluates the changes and transformations and historical breaks in Turkish political life
4Evaluates the unchanging problems in Turkish political life from a historical and economic perspective
5Evaluates current problems in Turkish political life within the framework of historical continuity

Course Contents
Classification of ethnic and religious groups in Turkey; social origin, language, religion-state, sect and politics relations; "Cultural Identity" discussions; The social structure will be discussed on ethnic and cultural basis and the problems reflected in politics will be discussed. In the course, the development of modernity in Turkey, its results and modernity debates are evaluated. Particularly the arguments of critical theory regarding rationality are examined.
