Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course; to be able to follow current developments in the context of development literature after gaining theoretical knowledge on development and environmental literature; to be able to think locally by taking into account the global exemplary practices in this regard; It is aimed to think about the climate crisis, which is the most burning problem of our age and which concerns the future of the world, with all its dimensions. It is aimed to raise the awareness of the students who take the course on this and similar subjects to the highest level. Another aim is to think through exemplary practices that environmental indicators are a very important element for development.

Course Contents
In this course, development and the environment will be considered together. Economy, environment and social issues will be evaluated together. In which areas the improvement of economic indicators coincide with environmental indicators will be evaluated. It will be questioned how the scarce resources and selection mechanisms that are the reason for the existence of the economy and its relationship with the environment. The evaluation of environmental problems caused by economic activities in the national and international arena and the existence of environmentally compatible forms of each economic activity will be examined. The course will be taught in line with the UN's sustainability principles and each topic will be evaluated separately. In addition, the course will examine how air, water and soil can be transferred to future generations in a healthier way, and suggestions and alternatives, if any, will be evaluated.
