Objectives of the Course
Providing information about the basic concepts, resources, principles, intervention methods, practices of environmental law and the structure / institutions responsible for implementation and in the light of this theoretically based knowledge, gaining the ability to analyze current problems at basic level.

Learning Outcomes
1i. To be able to explain the purpose, development, used concepts and sources of environmental law
2ii. To learn the general principles of environmental law and environmental right and to establish the connection between them,
3iii. To be able to compare international environmental law and Turkish environmental legislation
4iv. Learning the responsible persons and intervention tools in preventing environmental pollution and protecting the environment,
5v. Having knowledge about administrative, legal and criminal sanctions and differences in environmental law
6vi. Understanding the role and place of international organizations in environmental law, legislation.
7vii. With the knowledge gained in the field; gain the skills and competence to research and analyze these issues, to express themselves on these issues, to communicate, to make academically original studies, to write and to present.

Course Contents
In this course, the emergence of environmental law due to environmental problems; development, principles, legal approach to environmental problems; responsibilities, dispute resolution mechanisms, national and international applications will be discussed. The application will be evaluated with application examples, articles, sample judicial decisions, the solution methods applied in the solution of environmental problems, legal tools, efficiency and adequacy of institutional structures.

5Week 5: Basic principles of environmental law (Polluter Pays, Participation, Prudence principles)

8Prevention of environmental degradation and pollution control, measures to be taken to prevent environmental pollution; administrative procedures and sanctions
9Environmental impact assessment and practical examples
10Criminal and legal responsibilities in environmental law, the role of these responsibilities in environmental protection,
