Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to theoretically examine sex and gender-related issues and current issues within the axis of equality principle and non-discrimination; Turkey and the world is to improve the social life of the egalitarian behavior towards evaluating this perspective.

Learning Outcomes
1At the end of this course, students: i. Define and compare concepts of sex and gender
2ii. Explain the effects of gender on people's perceptions, attitudes and behaviors
3iii. Examine pieces of art (movies, TV series, novels etc.) by equalitarian and extensive perspective,
4iv. Identify gender based violence and its types.
5v. Explain legal methods against the gender based violence.

Course Contents
In this course, basic issues and current problems related to sex and gender will be examined theoretically within the axis of the principle of equality and the prohibition of discrimination; discriminatory and equitable application in social life will be assessed by using the studies on gender equality in Turkey and the world, drama studies and movie readings.
