Objectives of the Course
.To raise awareness about the debates about the nature and purpose of religious education. To question the contribution of religious education to the meaning of religion in the lives of people and societies and the quality of religious life. To include theoretical and practical problems related to religious understanding and life that students may encounter throughout their lives; to encourage students to find solutions to these problems. With a historical perspective, to provide an opportunity to gain an original religious education formation by critically examining the main religious education approaches discussed in the past, as well as the religious education approaches accepted in the past.

Learning Outcomes
1.To determine the roles of traditions and transmissions in the formation of God's image by examining the historical development of God's image.
2.Calling people to seek the meaning of life and keeping this search alive
3.Trying to determine when religious education started, how it developed, the reasons affecting this development and the methods that will contribute to positive development.
4.To consider religious education as the education of the religion believed and to systematize the information coming from the revelation and make it suitable for education.

1.To have higher order thinking processes (problem solving, critical thinking, creative thinking, decision making) and to know the ways to adapt it to the curriculum.

5To have knowledge about religions. Developing intercultural dialogue and coexistence skills and guiding the recognition of basic concepts of religion, different religions and beliefs, differences in understanding in religion, similarities and their reasons.
