Objectives of the Course
To provide students with information on the philosophical and social development of the relationship between religion and politics throughout history both in the West and in the Islamic world, to provide them with encompassing and critical approaches to contemporary practices and ideas, to help them understand the problems and debates that exist within this framework.

Learning Outcomes
1Have knowledge about the basic concepts of religion and state relations, understand them with their historical development and use them correctly
2Learns the development process of religion and state relations in the Western world within the framework of religious and social structure, philosophical and historical development affecting this process.
3Learn the basic approach of the Qur'an and Sunnah about the religion-state relations in the Islamic world, have information about the first period and subsequent applications and understand the medieval Islamic political thought developed within this framework
4Gains knowledge of state models in the context of religious-state relations and secular practices in the West and the Muslim world in the modern era.
5Learns the criticisms of traditional Islamic political thought and comprehends the modern debates on Islam's approach to state administration, democracy and secularism.
