Objectives of the Course
This lesson aims to know the purpose, philosophy and principles of palliative care, the roles and responsibilities of the palliative care team, to determine the palliative care needs of the patient and his family, to define the physical, psychological, spiritual, social and economic problems of the patient and his family in need of palliative care, the care process, the mourning period. It aims to provide the necessary knowledge and skills in the application of effective coping methods.

Learning Outcomes
1To be able to express the concepts and principles that will form the basis of theoretical knowledge and practices related to palliative care and end-of-life decisions.
2To be able to recognize the patient and family in need of palliative care; Being aware of psychological, social and economic problems and using effective communication methods
3To be able to communicate effectively with nursing and other health disciplines in providing and managing palliative care and end-of-life care and to be able to use communication methods necessary for intermultidisciplinary teamwork.
4Ability to act in accordance with evidence-based and ethical values in clinical practices and research related to palliative care and end-of-life care
5Ability to create new knowledge by integrating knowledge of palliative care and end-of-life care with knowledge from different disciplines.
6To be able to follow the current developments in palliative care and end-of-life care closely and to systematically transfer their work to the field and non-field groups by gaining a critical perspective.

This lesson The purpose, definition and principles of palliative care, the status of palliative care and palliative care nursing in our country, the definition of physical, psychological, spiritual, social and economic problems in the patient and his family who need palliative care, the care process, the implementation of effective coping methods with the bereavement period.
