The aim of the course to present information to preservice preschool teachers about: a. Behaviors and related theories b. Identifying and defining target behaviors c. Behavioral observation and assessment d. Increasing and supporting appropriate behaviors (organizing environment, prompts-cues and reinforcements) e. Dealing with inappropriate behaviors (reasons and functions of inappropriate behaviors, preventive methods, methods for removing inappropriate behaviors
Name of Lecturer(s)
Learning Outcomes
1Knows the theories explaining the behaviors.
2Defines the concepts of behavior management in early childhood.
3Describes the behaviors in an observable and measurable way and writes behavioral goals.
4Knows how to identify target behavior. Knows and uses behavioral assessment- observation techniques.
5Knows the methods of teaching and supporting positive behaviors (prompts-cues, reinforcements, organizing environment, etc.).
6Identifies the causes and functions of negative behaviors Knows and defines negative behavior reduction methods.
7Develops skills related to behavior management in early childhood
8Explains behavior management methods to teachers and parents in early childhood. Knows the importance of parent-teacher interaction in behavior management.
Mode of Delivery
Normal Education
