Objectives of the Course |
The aim of the course to present information to preservice preschool teachers about: a. Behaviors and related theories b. Identifying and defining target behaviors c. Behavioral observation and assessment d. Increasing and supporting appropriate behaviors (organizing environment, prompts-cues and reinforcements) e. Dealing with inappropriate behaviors (reasons and functions of inappropriate behaviors, preventive methods, methods for removing inappropriate behaviors |

Learning Outcomes |
1 | Knows the theories explaining the behaviors. | 2 | Defines the concepts of behavior management in early childhood. | 3 | Describes the behaviors in an observable and measurable way and writes behavioral goals. | 4 | Knows how to identify target behavior. Knows and uses behavioral assessment- observation techniques.
| 5 | Knows the methods of teaching and supporting positive behaviors (prompts-cues, reinforcements, organizing environment, etc.). | 6 | Identifies the causes and functions of negative behaviors Knows and defines negative behavior reduction methods. | 7 | Develops skills related to behavior management in early childhood | 8 | Explains behavior management methods to teachers and parents in early childhood. Knows the importance of parent-teacher interaction in behavior management. |
