Objectives of the Course
To comprehend Turkish History and Culture. To examine the Turkish States and their Civilizations and Organizations from the beginning to the Republic of Turkey. To comprehend the reasons of cultural development and change of Turkish States and their place and importance in world cultures.

Developmental stages of Turkish Cultural History, political and social histories of Turkish States and societies from past to present; The relations between the acceptance of Islam by the Turks, the stages of development in culture and civilization, and philosophy, science, literature, fine arts and construction activities. Migrations from Central Asia, homeland of Turks; Acceptance of Islam by Turks; Turkish culture and civilization under the influence of Islam; Seljuk and Ottoman history and civilization; Balkan and World War I and its consequences.
