Objectives of the Course
To comprehend the alphabets or writing systems used in the writing of Turkish from the beginning to the 21st century. To enable students to transfer texts written with these writing systems into transcription.

Course Contents
Köktürk writing system, Old Uyghur alphabet, Arabic-based Ottoman Turkish alphabet (writing and printed), Slavic-based Cyrillic alphabet (commons and differences between the systems used by Turkish communities).

2Vowels and consonants system of Orkhon writing. Reading study on the texts with written by Orkhon alphabet (the Orkhon Inscriptions et al.).
3Reading and writing studies on the Orkhon Inscriptions.
4Introduction to the old Uighur alphabet and reading passages from texts written in the alphabet.
