Objectives of the Course
The general aim of this course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors in order to understand the relationship between education and economy.

Learning Outcomes
1Explain the basic concepts of economics and educational economics.
2Knows the historical development process of the educational economy in the world and in Turkey, and the first studies (research) in this field.
3Examines scientific publications and articles in the field of educational economics in Turkey.
4It explores the relationship between globalization – international competition and education.
5Learns Cost-Benefit Analysis and Cost-Effectiveness Analysis and explains it with examples from the education sector and other sectors.
6Knows the financing methods (models) of education and gives examples of the implementation of these methods in Turkey and other countries.
7It analyzes the educational projects (National Education Development Project, the Modernization of Vocational and Technical Education Project, etc.) and the benefits provided in Turkey with the World Bank and European Union loans.
8Knows efficiency and effectiveness in education and uses it throughout her professional life.

Basic concepts related to the economic foundations of education, the relationship of economic theory and practices with education systems, theories of educational economics, costs and expenditures in education, financing of education, relations between education and development.
