Objectives of the Course
To gain professional knowledge and skills about basic types of phase diagrams and mechanical properties of materials used in engineering applications.
Name of Lecturer(s)
Öğr. Gör. Ömer ERDOĞAN
Learning Outcomes
1Structures of atoms and structures of interatomic bonds belonging engineering materials can be listed.
2It can be explained what kind of crystalline structure materials used in engineering have.
3Shearing, twinning, grain boundary shift and diffusional creep can be determined via elastic and plastic deformation.
4Mechanical properties of the materials, such as tensile, hardness, fatigue, notch impact and creep tests, and what purpose they are made can be explained. Mechanical properties can be determined by tensile test results.
5Phase transformations in iron carbon phase diagram and internal structures formed during transformations can be determined.
