Objectives of the Course
To provide objective information about Hinduism and Buddhism, which are the main beliefs of the Far East. To provide information about traditional Turkish beliefs and to introduce the traditions and behaviors exhibited in line with these beliefs; The aim of these behaviors is to identify those that continued after Islam and those that have manifestations in today's Turkish society or other Turkish societies and to establish parallels between them. Judaism, Christianity and Islam, religions originating from the Middle East, are examined in depth. To provide students with objective information within the framework of lecture-scriptive methodology, staying away from normativity and apologetics. Judaism and Christianity, the two important religions of today's world; to introduce its origins, religious leaders (founders), historical development processes, sacred texts, beliefs, worship, rituals and traditions. To introduce the historical adventures and reasons for the emergence of the sub-branches of Christianity, which have become widespread throughout the world, and to include comparisons with the religion of Islam.

2To demonstrate knowledge of the origins of each of the major world religions with specific interest in the social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of the founders and earliest adherents of each of the major religions.
3 Dinlerin kökenine dair yaklaşımları öğrenir.
4 Dünya mevcut olan milli dinleri ve temel özelliklerini belirler ve aralarında karşılaştırmalar yapar.
5To identify and briefly explain the major teachings and practices of each of the world religions studied.
6To engage in the learning process by noting the key metaphysical presuppositions and positions of each of the religions studied
7To develop an awareness of the influence that each of the religions studied has had on the world as we know it.
8To demonstrate the ability to use basic research tools available in the field of religion and philosophy, and draw reasonable conclusions on the basis of careful study.

Course Contents
Definition, subject, method, importance and development of the history of religions, its place among religious sciences. Studies on the history of religions in the West, the Islamic world and Turkey. Today's religious geography (general information about living religions). Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc. General history of other religions, basic features, beliefs, worship, religious traditions and holidays.
