Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is that, according to Turkish Law of Obligations, the sources of debt are legal transactions, torts and unjust enrichment. The aim of the course is to examine these sources of debt.

Learning Outcomes
1They will be able to understand the importance of the law of obligations. They will also learn the basic concepts of the law of obligations.
2They will be able to understand the concepts of contract, tort and unjust enrichment, which are the sources of debt, the conditions of performance of debts and the consequences of non-fulfillment of debts.
3They will be able to solve case studies on the topics.
4They will understand the source of debt, concepts of responsibility and types of responsibility.
5They will be able to make presentations by preparing files on the topics. Thus, they will reinforce their theoretical knowledge.

Course Contents
When evaluated in general, the concepts of legal transactions, tort and unjust enrichment, which constitute the source of debt, will be emphasized. Therefore, first of all, the concept of debt will be defined. Then, legal transactions and contracts will be explained. After the definition of tort is made, its consequences will be explained. Unjust enrichment will be defined and its consequences will be emphasized. Additionally, the issues of performance and non-performance of the debt will be discussed.

2Explanation of the basic concepts of the Law of Obligations, definition of debt and debt relationship in a narrow sense, explanation of the concepts of performance in debt relationship, debtor and creditor.
3General explanation of debt sources, definition of the contract, proposal and acceptance in establishing the contract, establishment of the contract, elements of the contract.
4Inconsistencies between will and declaration of will in contracts and legal transactions, cases of mistake, deception and intimidation and their consequences.
5Definition of the concept of tort, explanation of its elements.
6Explanation of the legal consequences of tort liability
7Explaining compensation cases, material compensation and moral compensation
8Mid-term exam
9Definition of unjust enrichment, elements, unjust enrichment cases and their results
10Disclosure of the performance of the debt, time of performance, place of performance, factors to be considered in the performance of debts
11Cases of non-performance of the debt, legal consequences of non-performance of the debt
12Reasons for ending the debt relationship, consequences of ending the debt relationship
13Impossibility and its causes in a debt relationship, statute of limitations and its consequences in a debt relationship
