Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable students to obtain basic information about the field of biology, to understand the classification of living things, and to obtain the necessary information about plant structures and organs and animal diversity.

Course Contents
The content of this course can be expressed as follows; 1- The meaning, fields, importance, historical development of biology, living and non-living structures; 2- Diversity and classification of living things (prokaryotes, eukaryotes, species concept and taxonomic structures, species concept and taxonomic structures, 3- Structure and characteristics of plants; basic unit of life (cell, structure and function of the cell, membrane structure and function); 4- Cell division (mitosis, meiosis and uncontrolled cell division); 5- Tissues (vegetative tissues, dividing tissue, invariable tissue); 6- Vegetative organs and structures (vegetative organs, generative organs, reproduction, fertilization and development in non-flowering and flowering plants); 7- Overview of animal diversity (general characteristics of invertebrates and chordates) and open and closed-ended experiments on these topics.
