Description of Individual Course UnitsCourse Unit Code | Course Unit Title | Type of Course Unit | Year of Study | Semester | Number of ECTS Credits | AE-FB103 | Chemistry 1 | Compulsory | 1 | 1 | 3 |
| Level of Course Unit | First Cycle | Objectives of the Course | The aim of this course is to reinforce and improve the general chemistry knowledge acquired by Undergraduate Science Education students in secondary and high school education. On the other hand, it is also aimed to determine the missing information of the students and to eliminate them. For this purpose, the information that students will need according to their readiness level and in the teaching profession will be explained in detail as indicated in the course content below. Again, in line with the explanations, problem solutions will be made in some subject areas, examples will be given where necessary, and the associations of daily life subject contents will be made and experimental applications will be made in the laboratory on some subjects. | Name of Lecturer(s) | Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Bilge ÖZTÜRK | Learning Outcomes | 1 | The historical development of chemistry, chemical reactions and stoichiometry will learn about the atom and the electron structure of the atom, the periodic table | 2 | Write the formulas of ionic compounds and Lewis formulas of molecules | 3 | Determine molecular geometry by using molecular formulas | 4 | Gain basic knowledge of metals, nonmetals, noble gases, chemical compounds, acids and bases | 5 | Will be able to know chemical bonds, valence bond theory, intermolecular interactions, physical properties of solutions and separation. | 6 | Solve problems related to gases |
