Course Contents |
Week 1: Giving information about the historical development process and technical structure of baglama.
Week 2: Giving information about the tuning systems used in baglama. And demonstration of how to make distorted tuning in baglama.
Week 3: Weighing and exercises to ensure right and left hand coordination on the 1st string (lower string) in distorted tuning.
Week 4: Weighing and exercises to ensure right and left hand coordination on the 2nd string (middle string) in distorted tuning.
Week 5: Weighing and exercises to ensure right and left hand coordination on the 3rd string (upper string) in distorted tuning.
Week 6: Performing performance studies on works composed in simple rhythms in the traditional Turkish folk music repertoire.
Week 7: Performing performance studies on halay works in the TRT repertoire.
Week 8: Midterm exam.
Week 9: Conducting studies to improve the performance technique in halay-form works.
Week 10: Conducting studies on the development of various performance techniques regarding the main styles of traditional Turkish folk music.
Week 11: Repeating studies on the development of performance techniques for halay works.
Week 12: Conducting studies to reinforce note bonding and syncopation techniques through sample works.
Week 13: General review of the information learned throughout the semester.
Week 14: Final Exam. |
