Objectives of the Course |
The purpose of this course is to teach the major principles of Ataturk and Turkish Revolution. Turkish Revolution as well as the principles of Ataturk are very important for Turkish education system. From the primary school through the University education, this subject is taken very seriously and it is compulsory for all students. Therefore this university level class aims to teach and directs students to understand these principles in detail. |

Course Contents |
This class starts with the first years of the new Republic and examines the results of the National Independence, elimination of the Sultanate and the creation of the new Republic. Then it focuses on the reforms in educational, cultural, social and economic areas and the strategy of Turkish Revolution as well as the formation process of these revolutions. After teaching various internal and external political events during the Presidency of Atatürk, the class finishes with the death of Ataturk and the Second World War. |
