Objectives of the Course
This course aims to learn how to improve the health of the society by protecting and improving the physical, mental and social health of the individual and the family and, if necessary, by monitoring and rehabilitating the treatment.

Learning Outcomes
1To be able to comprehend the importance, protection and development of public health in the world and in our country and the responsibilities of public health nurses in this field.
2Distinguish and apply the primary, secondary, and tertiary functions and enhanced activities of the public health nurse
3Should be able to identify the priority health problems of the region
4Should be able to make a risk assessment and know the precautions to be taken for risky/fragile groups in the society
5Should know the methods of early diagnosis of common health problems in the community
6Should be able to analyze the importance of family health, the relationship between individual, family and community health, and establish good communication with the family.
7To be able to apply a systematic nursing approach in meeting the health needs of a healthy or sick individual, to evaluate the sick individual in the home area.
8Should be able to carry out practices (education, consultancy, health screening) aimed at improving public health
9Gain ethical approaches in public health nursing
10Must be able to read and interpret at least one current literature related to the field

Course Contents
It examines the nursing process within the basic health services approach and ensures that it is put into practice in order to improve and protect health in all developmental periods from infancy to old age in the life cycle.
