Objectives of the Course
This course is based on women's health and diseases and covers pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and climacteric periods and common gynecological conditions that are a part of women's health. It teaches the skills related to preventive, curative and rehabilitative nursing approaches for the protection, development and improvement of women's reproductive health.

Learning Outcomes
1To be able to comprehend the position of women in the world and in Turkey.
2Understand the importance of the nurse's role in protecting and improving the health of women, fetuses and newborns, and develop an appropriate understanding and attitude.
3Appropriate nursing approaches can be found in cases of deviations from normal in the health of the woman, fetus and newborn.
4Provide training and counseling to individuals, families and society on reproductive health.
5In the climacteric period, he/she can provide education and counseling to the individual, family and society.
6The individual can communicate with family and team members using effective communication techniques.
7Define legal and ethical issues and problems that guide practice while serving individuals with reproductive health problems.
8She can use the knowledge and skills she learned in obstetrics and gynecology in her own life.

Course Contents
Introduction to women's health and gynecology nursing, reproductive health and the role of the nurse, cultural psychosocial and biological aspects of human sexuality, care in the climacteric period, care in the climacteric and menopause, normal prenatal, natal, postnatal periods and nursing care, normal newborn, risky pregnancy, birth, birth postpartum periods and nursing care, newborn and nursing care, family planning and care in infertility, reproductive system infections and nursing care, pelvic support structure disorders and nursing care, care of patients with reproductive system cancer, care of patients with gynecological cancer, menstrual disorders and nursing care, violence against women and nursing issues.
