Objectives of the Course
Surgical Diseases Nursing course, with the understanding of basic health services, the basic principles of surgery, the diseases of the systems that require surgical intervention and nursing care, the necessary nursing care in order to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of the individual in order to regain, maintain and improve the health of the patient before, during and after the surgery. It provides knowledge and application skills.

Learning Outcomes
1To be able to apply the nursing process before, during and after surgery in cases that require surgical intervention regarding all systems,
2Recognizes and uses tools and resources used in surgical nursing,
3Applies nursing interventions to predict and prevent complications that may develop in the patient after surgical intervention,
4Acts in accordance with patient rights and ethical approaches,
5Determines the general factors related to the physical, mental, social well-being and cultural differences of the patient undergoing surgical intervention and provides counseling for the needs of the individual, family and society,
6Plans the necessary discharge training for the individual to maintain his/her health at the highest level after the surgical procedure.
7Develops professional knowledge and practices in the field of surgical nursing through critical thinking and research,

Basic principles of surgical nursing, fluid electrolyte acid-base imbalances in surgery, surgical aseptic techniques and the role of the nurse in hospital infections, individual and nursing care in the perioperative period, nutrition of the surgical patient, surgery and shock, surgery and pain, cell injury, inflammation and wound care, burned individual and nursing care, digestive system surgery and nursing care, nervous system surgery and nursing care, musculoskeletal digestive system surgery and nursing care, Respiratory surgery and nursing care, cardiovascular system surgery and nursing care, breast surgery and nursing care, endocrine system surgery and nursing care, urogenital system surgery and nursing care, transplantations and nursing care, individuals undergoing eye, ear, nose and throat surgery and nursing care.
