Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide nursing students with general pathology knowledge and to have a general culture about the place of pathology in diseases.

Learning Outcomes
1Explains the definition of pathology, materials coming to the pathology laboratory, and the general functioning of the pathology laboratory
2Defines cellular adaptation mechanisms, factors causing cell injury and mechanisms of action, reversible or irreversible cell injury, morphological changes of apoptosis and necrosis
3Defines the mechanisms related to hemodynamic disorders and the morphological changes they cause
4It explains the pathological features of acute and chronic inflammation, cell regeneration, wound healing and repair pathology
5Gains basic information about basic immunological mechanisms and hypersensitivity reactions, immunodeficiency diseases and autoimmune diseases
6Defines the general characteristics, classification, naming of tumors and the basic features of benign-malignant tumors
7Plans and implements nursing practices accordingly by monitoring the pathological changes in the patient

Course Contents
This course covers the definition of pathology, its history and cellular pathology, pathology laboratory diagnostic techniques, etiology, inflammation and healing, genetic diseases, infectious diseases, immunology, neoplasia, fluid and hemodynamic balance, hemodynamic disorders.
