Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to understand the general concepts related to the functions of management and administration, to obtain general information about description of the organization, organization process, and the importance and principles of management and to learn how to apply these information in the field of Sport Management.

Course Contents
The course will be based on the theoretical. Beside this, debate on the issues in the classroom by creating a different sampling of the topics discussed to make students and will participate actively in class.

2 Explanation of the concepts of “management”, “managers” and “leader”. Analysis of the elements and characteristics of the management.
3 Explanation of structure of management, its functions and duties. To evaluate the POSDCORB functions.
4 Make an overall assessment of Management Approaches. Examination of the Classical and Neoclassical Management Approaches (Scientific Management, Administrative Theory, Theory of Bureaucracy).
5 Make an overall assessment of Modern Management Approaches (System and Situational Approaches) and Total Quality Management (TQM)
6 Explanation of the Vision, Mission and Values in Management and the importance of forming
7 Description of management processes. The role and purpose of “Goal Setting” and “Planning” in Management.

10 Explanation of the Connection Management Processes. The role and purpose of “Decision Making” and “Communication” in Management.
11 Explanation of the “Sport, Sport Management, Sports Manager, Leadership in Sport, Recreation Leader”.
12 Sport Management in Turkey and its importance. Institutionalization of Sport Management in the historical process.
13 Explanation of Local, National and International Sports Organisations and their relationships.
14 Management of sport programs. Case Study analysis and sample organizations.
