Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to conceptualize the concent of urban sociology and its relation to other areas and to utilize this accumulation of knowledge on current problems.

Course Contents
The course starts with basic approaches in urban sociology and important theoretical discussions on society and the city. Basically, the reciprocity and relational structure of urban space and social organization in the city is considered and the 20th nd 21st modern city, modern and postmodern metropolitan areas are evaluated. The concepts and discussions are briefly evaluated from the perspective of Turkish cases in the course which involves topics such as social differentiation, social classes, economic restructuring, social and economic change, social polarization.
